How to Set Up and Use Timesheets in Zoho People?

Timesheets in Zoho People allow tracking of work hours by project, client, or task for accurate billing and productivity analysis.

Steps to Enable and Configure Timesheets:

  1. Enable Timesheet Module:
    Go to Setup > Time Tracking > Timesheet Settings and enable the module.

  2. Define Time Log Preferences:

    • Choose between daily/weekly logging

    • Set approval workflow (e.g., manager or project head)

    • Configure billing type (billable/non-billable)

  3. Create Projects & Tasks:
    Navigate to Time Tracking > Projects:

    • Add project name, client, and tasks

    • Assign employees and deadlines

  4. Set Approval Flow:
    Go to Setup > Approvals > Timesheet Approvals to define rules and approvers.

Employees Log Time:

Employees go to Self-Service > Timesheet:

  • Select project/task

  • Enter hours manually or use timer

Manager Review:

Managers view submissions and approve via Team Timesheet dashboard.

Reports:

Access Reports > Timesheet Reports for:

  • Employee effort analysis
